Rehearsal 2

 9/1/24

Before we started rehearsing with our partners, Charlotte led a group warm up to help us relax and be prepared to become our characters. We did a roll down in addition to vocal warm ups to guarantee we can use the rehearsal time most efficiently.

In our main rehearsal we began by improvising as the characters whilst reading off our scripts to try and get a basic idea of how we would like our performance to look. We started brainstorming what props and costuming we want to incorporate in addition to taking feedback from each other on our portrayals. We were also provided with the opportunity to view the costumes provided by the drama department and see if we wanted to use any of them.

Emotional Memory

After reading through the script once we decided that we needed to get into the role a bit more. We both began recycling old emotions to attempt to connect with the character better and make sure our performance is convincing. Nora is very defensive in the scene therefore I began to relive in my head a moment when I felt the same and infused that into my performance.

Learning our lines

To try and get the lines into our heads we kept taking breaks between reads to not overwhelm ourselves and become familiar with the story etc. We spoke to other partners in our class to try and gain tips on how to learn lines successfully and tried some of the methods.
